This meticulously restored palazzetto, once home to the Dadda family, blends historic charm with modern comfort. Every detail reflects its heritage - from the carefully selected antique furnishings to the preserved architectural details that whisper stories of Venetian grandeur. The residence features four air-conditioned bedrooms, a magnificent salon with period decor, and a terrace offering breathtaking Grand Canal views. Four luxurious bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and family-friendly amenities (including children's toys) ensure comfort for all guests. Well-behaved pets are welcome under supervision. True to its Venetian character, the palazzetto maintains its authenticity without an elevator, inviting you to experience authentic Venetian living at its finest.
Recently restored, along with the rest of the building, the entrance offers direct water access to the Grand Canal through the precious wrought-iron “water gate.” The gate can be conveniently reached by private boats or water taxi, a direct passage to the city's sights that starts at the doorstep. The elegant staircase, which features the skillful alternation of Portovenere and Proconnesio marbles, leads to the upper floors of the palazzetto.
Located on the first floor, to the left of the stairs, Ca'Dadda's largest room is upholstered with elegant upholstery that echoes the colors and patterns that adorned the house's previous sitting room. The light gray of the walls harmonizes well with the shades of the windows made with the “vetri a rulli” technique, a true Venetian craft tradition. The view is of the Rialto Bridge, the Campo dell'Erberia, the former site of the city market (now moved a little further on), the old courthouse and the Palazzo delle Prigioni.
To the right of the entrance lies the Red Living Room, named for its distinctive early 20th-century tiles, rediscovered and preserved during restoration. The space features a comfortable sofa and modern flat-screen TV with access to major streaming platforms. Two elegant staircases connect different areas of the house across two floors. Their lower walls are clad in precious marbles - deep Portoro with golden veins and luminous Proconnesio - transitioning midway to floral stucco decorations, guiding guests to the various living spaces above.
This part of the house, formerly for service personnel, has been revisited to offer a unique and comfortable experience, while retaining its distinctive historical and architectural features. The materials and design are inspired by Riva motorboats, synonymous with luxury, elegance and prestige, representing a symbol of Italian excellence, which you can easily admire along the city's canals. The space consists of two double bedrooms with wardrobes and en suite bathrooms, equipped with all comforts. A third bathroom, also equipped with heated floors and a large shower, completes the rooms on the first floor.
Preceded by a large hallway, the Grand Salon on the second floor opens the view to the outside with a typical Venetian three-mullioned window. The art-deco style has been maintained and actualized with the restoration of the striking alcove and through the luxurious wall fabrics made by the studio of Giovanni Vianello, the city's leading upholsterer. The wooden inserts and doors, attributed to the famous Milanese architect Gio Ponti and dating back to the 1940s restoration, were maintained and renovated by Alessandro Macuz, a Venetian craftsman better known as “El Lustrin,” who also took care of the boiserie and closet closets. The floors in the Salon and other rooms on the second floor were made using the “terrazzo alla veneziana” technique, a mosaic creation that plays with color contrasts, harmonizing with those chosen to decorate the wallsThe Salon, in addition to comfortable armchairs and a stylish sofa, has a large dining table.
The cozy second-floor bedroom is preceded by an original handcrafted wardrobe room, entirely crafted from painted wood – a beautiful example of historic Venetian cabinetry. This functional space offers ample storage for guests' clothing and shoes while preserving the palazzo's artisanal heritage. The level is completed by a spacious bathroom featuring dual sink stations and an elegant freestanding bathtub, creating a perfect retreat for relaxation.
With its black-and-white checkered floor, red wood accents, and Carrara marble countertops, the kitchen on the second floor is a tribute to architect Carlo Scarpa's vision of architecture. Complete with a marble table for intimate lunches and dinners, the kitchen offers an array of designer appliances and is complete with a set of dishes, pots, glasses, and cutlery, as well as washer and dryer.
From the terrace, accessible directly from the salon, of which it is an ideal extension, it is possible to enjoy a 180-degree panorama that ranges from the iconic Rialto Bridge and Palazzo Vendramin Calergi, the current home of the Casino. There are not many spaces in Venice that allow the privilege of having such a wide and airy view of the city's architectural beauty but also of its teeming daily life that takes place on the water. An ideal place to savor a dinner in the cool of the evening as well as to set yourself to watch the Regata Storica and all the major rowing events that run through this central piece of the city.
